I think I need to reevaluate some things.
The Boy (climbing the jungle gym and falling): Argh! I'm just not any good at this!
Me: That's ok! You just have to practice. Nobody's good at anything the first time they try it.
The Boy: They're not?
Me: Nope. I have to practice what I do all the time. Like....well, think about it. What's something I'm good at?
The Boy: Eating peanut butter.
Me: ...
The Boy: ...

The 5yo: Why did Abraham Lincoln die?
The Wife: Well, it was a really long time ago. He'd be dead now anyway. But...someone killed him.
The 5yo: What? Why?
The Wife: They didn't want him to be president any more.
The 5yo (incredulous and full of disgust): Why didn't they just VOTE?!
